Tornado Hits Burlington County For 2nd Time In 2 Weeks
A tornado was sighted over Burlington at 7:23 p.m. Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.
BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — For the second time in two weeks, a tornado was sighted in Burlington County, officials said Thursday night.
A tornado was sighted over Burlington at 7:23 p.m. Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service. No major damage has been reported as of 8 p.m., according to Burlington County spokesman David Levinsky. No additional information was immediately available.
A second tornado warning that was issued later in the night expired at 9:30 p.m. The storm that prompted the warning for Ocean County, and briefly for Burlington County, moved offshore and out of the area. The tornado that hit Burlington earlier in the night was sighted as tornado warnings covered the area Thursday evening. A confirmed tornado was also spotted over Bensalem, or 10 miles southwest of Trenton, moving east at 25 mph at about 7:15 p.m.
Tornado warnings were issued for Burlington, Mercer, Ocean and Monmouth counties, but have since expired. As of 8 p.m. a Tornado Watch remained in effect for the following counties:

It is the second time in as many weeks that a tornado touched down in Burlington County. On July 17, an EF1 tornado hit Springfield, according to the National Weather Service.
