3 Arrests Made Following Robbery At QuickCheck In Clark

CLARK, NJ — Clark Police arrested three men in connection with two robberies that occurred at QuickCheck in Clark.

Twice during the month of May 2022, shoppers at the QuickCheck, located at 186 Westfield Ave., reported being the victims of a strong armed robbery, according to police.

In both cases, police said female shoppers had their purses forcefully taken from them by an unknown man. The male suspect was assisted by two others, who acted as lookout and a "get away" driver, police said.

Patrol units responded to the area, but they were unable to locate the suspects at the time.

A months-long follow-up investigation led to three suspects being identified and charged in relation to these two incidents.

Tariq Kyam, a 56-year-old man from Newark, Alex Caroll, a 34-year-old man from Newark and David Fate, a 38-year-old man from Newark, were all charged with the following offenses:

  • Robbery, a crime of the second degree
  • Conspiracy to commit robbery, a crime of the second degree
  • Theft of an access device, a crime of the third degree
  • Theft of a credit card, a crime of the fourth degree

All three men are currently lodged in various detention facilities, police said.

In related news, a woman was recently arrested in connection with stealing $4,000 worth of merchandise from ULTA in Clark Commons.

Police said an investigation revealed that there have been a total of ten shoplifting incidents in the ULTA store since November, adding up to $20,000 of stolen merchandise.
