Car Fire Ignites On Garden State Parkway In Clark

Firefighters came across the car fire while leaving another fire in Clark.

CLARK, NJ — Firefighters extinguished a car fire on the Garden State Parkway on Monday night.

A Hyundai passenger vehicle was reportedly on fire at 6:30 p.m. on the Garden State Parkway North at milepost 136.5 in Clark.

The Elizabeth Fire Department was leaving Clark Fire Headquarters after a devastating fire in the township, which had injured a police officer, when they arrived at the car fire, said Clark Fire Department.

Both the Elizabeth and Clark Fire Departments extinguished the fire.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no additional information is available, said New Jersey State Police(NJSP) Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.
