Car Stolen From Linden Dealership, Arrest Made

A man was arrested and charged with burglary after allegedly stealing a car from the Car Complex dealership in Linden.

LINDEN, NJ — A Linden man was arrested and charged with burglary after allegedly stealing a car from a local used car dealership, according a press release from the Linden Police Department.

Mike Kondilas, 23, of Linden allegedly forced his way into the Car Complex on 55 W. St. George Avenue, and stole keys to multiple vehicles on Dec. 11 at approximately 10:45 p.m. Kondilas then allegedly stole a vehicle from the parking lot and fled the scene.

The stolen vehicle, a black 2011 Infiniti M37, was recovered at the scene of a motor vehicle crash on Dec. 12th. The driver of the vehicle fled from the scene before the police arrived.

Detectives quickly identified Kondilas as the driver in the crash, and subsequently as the burglary suspect. He was arrested at his home on Jan. 4, 2022 without incident.

Kondilas is charged with third-degree burglary, as well multiple counts of criminal mischief and theft. He was taken into custody at Essex County Jail pending an appearance in Union County Superior Court.
