A transformer fire closed a portion of Liberty Street Tuesday, police said.

CLARK, NJ - A transformer fire closed a portion of Liberty Street Tuesday, authorities said.

The fire, reported in a Facebook post by Clark Township Police Department at around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, closed Liberty Street between Broadway and Valley Road, police said.

Residents of the area were informed that they might experience a power outage while PSEG worked to restore power.

No injuries were reported by police in the statement. A request for comment from Clark police was not immediately returned.
