Garwood Lidl Grocery Store Will Open Wednesday

The first 100 customers will be presented with a special gift card ranging from $5 to $100 each at the grand opening.

GARWOOD, NJ — The brand-new grocery store, Lidl, is set to open its Garwood location on Wednesday.

A ribbon-cutting celebration with community leaders will be held at 7:40 a.m. on Wednesday at 10 South Ave. in Garwood, where the former Pathmark Supermarket used to be.

The store will operate Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The grand opening celebration will kickoff in Garwood with special offers and the first 100 customers will be presented with a special gift card ranging from $5 to $100 each. Shoppers can also enter to win a $500 Lidl gift card and take advantage of special giveaways.

"I am proud to welcome Lidl to Garwood at a location that is one of the main entrance points to our town," said Garwood Mayor Sara Todisco. "From speaking with many residents, I know many are looking forward to the opening and future success of the Lidl supermarket."

This will be Lidl's 20th store in New Jersey along with a new Belleville location also opening on Wednesday.
