Garwood Teen Hit By SUV While On Bike, Police Searching For Driver
The 14-year-old was hit by the SUV as it was exiting a McDonald's parking lot in Garwood Monday afternoon, according to police.
GARWOOD, NJ — A hit-and-run occurred in Garwood on Monday when a 14-year-old boy was hit by an SUV while riding his bicycle, according to Garwood Police.
The boy was riding his bicycle westbound on North Avenue at around 2 p.m. when he was hit a grey Nissan SUV as the car was exiting the McDonald's parking lot on 216 North Avenue, police said. After striking the boy, the Nissan turned right onto North Avenue and fled the scene.
The boy was treated at the scene for pain in his hip. Garwood First Aid Squad then took him to a local hospital in the care of a family member.

Garwood Police is continuing to investigate the incident and is looking to identify the driver involved.
The operator of the Nissan is described as a white woman with reddish brown hair in her mid to late 40's.
