Hand Grenade Found Inside Truck In Union County: Police
An employee of Marine Cargo in Linden discovered a hand grenade while cleaning out a truck. Police said the grenade was inactive.
UNION COUNTY, NJ — A worker at Marine Cargo, a trucking business in Linden, found a hand grenade inside one of the trucks Tuesday morning, according to Rahway Police.
Police said the hand grenade was discovered while one of the workers was cleaning out the vehicle at around 11:44 a.m.
When members of the Rahway Police Department, along with the Union County Police Bomb Squad, arrived at the business located at 970 New Brunswick Avenue, they found the device to be inert.

Police said an investigation revealed that the inactive device was left in the truck by a former employee who used the truck regularly.
No criminal charges will be filed against the former employee, police said.

Rahway Police Department has ended its activity on New Brunswick Ave and said there is no cause for alarm. The area has been fully reopened.
