Meet Your New Union County Patch Editor

Greetings Union County,

My name is Emily Everson and I am thrilled to be your new Patch Editor, managing all Patch sites in Union and Somerset Counties, in addition to West Orange and Chatham Patch.

I have lived in Union County for most of my life and spent my career covering Central and North New Jersey. I started out as a reporter for the Union County LocalSource newspaper, before working as an editor for hyperlocal news websites and community magazines throughout the region.

Having dedicated my career to local news coverage, I strongly believe that local journalists should be fierce advocates for the communities they cover. Local news should be essential, immediate, and easy to access. On our Union County Patch sites, you’ll find the stories and updates that cover the local issues you care about.

I’m a Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School grad and a proud alum of Marymount Manhattan College, where I graduated Magna cum laude. I now live in Clark with my adorable Westie puppy, Basil.
