New Clark-Area Sandwich Shop Celebrates Grand Opening
The area's newest eatery, Sub House 85, offers an extensive menu of mouthwatering brunches, toasts, hot sandwiches and classic cold subs.
RAHWAY, NJ - Bring your appetites, Union County: the area’s newest sandwich shop, Sub House 85, offers an extensive menu of mouthwatering brunches, toasts, hot sandwiches and classic cold subs.
Located at 85 East Cherry Street, Sub House 85 launched several soft openings earlier this year; it celebrated its official grand opening earlier on Feb. 14 alongside Mayor Raymond Giacobbe, the Rahway City Council and members of the local chamber of commerce.
“Started as a passion project by a local Rahway couple, our goal is to serve you consistent, high-quality meals in a casual atmosphere,” the sub shop’s website reads. “Whether you are looking for the perfect breakfast sandwich, a delicious chicken n’ waffle, or a sub sandwich to-go, we got you covered!”

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the couple behind the operation shared their first date sandwich order - turkey, provolone, the works with mayo, and banana peppers -shared during a picnic.
“Fast forward two years, we are now the proud owners of @subhouse85nj, doing what we love for our customers everyday,” the owners wrote in an Instagram post. “We are so grateful for all the support this past month and are excited to continue serving the greater Rahway area for years to come!”

Sub House 85 offers signature sandwiches ranging from The Jersey O.G. (Pork roll, fried egg, and American cheese on a roll) and The Firefighter (Hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, potatoes, and deli mustard on a toasted hero with a side of fries) to the to classic Philly Cheesesteaks and B.E.C.ky (Bacon, fried egg, and American cheese on a roll) sandwiches, all sourced from Boar’s Head Provisions, “the freshest produce” and locally-baked bread. The sandwich shop is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In-house pickup and DoorDash/Uber Eats delivery options are available.
