Rahway Dog Care Site In Alleged Abuse Video Ordered To Vacate Premises
An inspection from city officials on Monday resulted in the owners "immediately" vacating the Main Street dog training site, officials said.
RAHWAY, NJ - The owners of a Rahway-based dog training facility were ordered to vacate the premises Monday after a social media video allegedly depicting animal cruelty at the training site surfaced over the weekend.
The video in question, deemed “very disturbing” in a statement from Rahway police, was taken at Bubba Luv Dog Training and Rescue on Main Street, Mayor Raymond A. Giacobbe confirmed in a statement Monday.
The mayor also confirmed that city officials from Rahway Code Enforcement as well as the local health department and the Associated Humane Societies, took “several actions” Monday morning at Bubba Luv, including an order to vacate the premises due to construction code violations and an inspection of all dogs at the facility.

“All dogs at the facility were examined by the Humane Officer and thankfully they were found to be in good condition,” Giacobbe said.
The owners of the business also immediately vacated the premises, Giacobbe added.

Though the video was taken down from Twitter sometime on Monday, viewers described the dog in the video being “choked from the neck so he was completely defenseless” by an apparent trainer, according to comments on Rahway police social media.

“I know that many people feel the same way I do and are outraged at what the video shows,” Giacobbe said.
“We appreciate your concern and your support. The Police Department has received thousands of calls since the video was posted online, and I ask everyone to be patient and let law enforcement officials handle the investigation. We will update our website and social media as the situation unfolds.”
