Cranford Honoring Residents Lost In 9/11 Attacks
Most of those lost were either from New York or New Jersey.

CRANFORD, NJ — The Township will be holding its 9/11 memorial on Thursday, September 11 to honor those lost in the terrorist attacks 24 years ago.
The ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. on the grounds of the Cranford 9/11 Memorial, located at Springfield Avenue and North Union Avenue. The Cranford World Trade Center Committee and the Cranford Clergy Council are hosting the event. All members of the community are invited.
The ceremony will be held in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church across the street in the event of unfavorable weather.

Nearly 3,000 Americans, including at least 750 from New Jersey and six from Summit, were killed in the suicide attacks orchestrated by 19 militants with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaida. Those lost include:
- Dean P. Eberling, 44, World Trade Center
- Christopher Michael Grady, 39, World Trade Center
- Robert H. Lynch Jr., 44, World Trade Center
- Gregory Milanowycz, 25, World Trade Center
- Thomas M. Regan, 43, World Trade Center
- Leonard Joseph Snyder, 35 World Trade Center
Most of the victims were from either New York or New Jersey, where many who lived across the Hudson River from the World Trade Center recall watching the twin towers falling into a cloud of smoke from their homes.

More than 2,700 people died at the World Trade Center alone on 9/11, including the passengers of American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175. Another close to 200 were killed when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into The Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and more than 40 died on United Airlines Flight 93 near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
