Cranford events and issues during the last full week of September.

This week's victories come in the form of new school grants, a deathmatch against Knotweed, and an end to the Cougars' losing streak. Here's a look at the events and issues that made the news:

Monday, September 21:

  • School officials narrow down their Cranford High School principal candidate list from 150 to 15. 
  • Patch offers a little story about a man, his all-terrain quad, and his fight against Japanese Knotweed in Lenape Park.
  • Cranford schools receive over . 
  • Lady Cougars conquer North Plainfield at a field hockey game that ends 4-0.
  • Three first-graders present their kindergarten survival guide to a Board of Education crowd.

Tuesday, September 22:

Wednesday, September 23:

  • A former Cranford resident is arrested after he reportedly tried to break into a home. Police are still investigating any connections this arrest may have with other burglaries in the area.
  • Academy students go on patrol.
  • Lady Cougars volleyball falls to Roselle Catholic.
  • A Cranford resident sent us a photo and info on the Lady Cougars' win against Kent Place in field hockey. If you're at a Cranford sports game, take a photo and send me a final score and I'll post it too.
  • Officials present the Master Plan to the public. The next meeting will be held on September 30.
