A cafe and lounge are also part of the construction plans.

ROSELLE, NJ — A new ice rink is on its way in Union County.
County leaders broke ground a few weeks ago on a second rink at Warinanco Park.
The new indoor rink will measure 200 feet by 85 feet and be housed in a 50,000 square-foot building. The facility will also include five team rooms, a multipurpose room, and full bleacher seating.

The new year-round indoor rink represents more than a facility," said Commissioner Chairwoman Lourdes M. Leon. "It represents opportunity...ensuring that every child, no matter where they come from, has the chance to get on the ice and be a part of something great."
The new building will also be fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

Inside will also be a viewing lounge, skate rental area, cafe, and a covered connection to the Warinanco Sports Center next door. A new ice hockey-themed playground and larger parking lot are also being installed.
The lot will have a dedicated area for players and visitors for both pickup and dropoff.
According to French & Parello Associates, the planning and design firm involved with the project, the rink is estimated to be completed by July 2027.
The total construction cost is $26.6 million and is being covered fully by $27 million from state grant funding, said Union County Spokesperson Kelly Martins. No taxpayer dollars are being used for the construction.
The Warinanco Sports Center is located at 1 Park Dr.
