• Loaded Gun, Drugs Found With Driver In Union County: Police (patch.com) — Cranford residents are being told that a Wednesday night traffic stop on North Avenue near the Garden State Parkway led police to seize a loaded Glock handgun, hollow-point bullets, and multiple types of suspected drugs. Two North Jersey residents were arrested on serious weapons and heroin/cocaine distribution charges and taken to Union County Jail, underscoring ongoing enforcement along a major Cranford corridor. 
• N.J. man sentenced for sexual assault of child in a public park gets 8 years in prison (nj.com subscription) — A man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for sexually assaulting a child in a Cranford park 15 years ago, after a 2025 report to Union County police about the incident in Nomahegan Park. He must serve most of his term and will face Megan’s Law registration and protections for victims under Nicole’s Law after release.
