• Man Sentenced For Sexual Assault Of Children In Cranford (patch.com) — Cranford readers are learning that a Middlesex man has been sentenced to eight years in state prison for sexually assaulting two minors in Nomehagen Park back in 2011. Prosecutors say he posed online as a minor to meet the children, and his punishment includes Megan’s Law registration, lifetime parole supervision, and protections for the victims under Nicole’s Law. 
• Cranford Serves as Film Set for New Movie Featuring Billy Bob Thornton (tapinto.net) — Cranford’s Miln Street parking lot turned into a movie set Monday as cameras rolled for “Somedays,” starring Billy Bob Thornton and Ariana Greenblatt. Residents watched crews work through the morning, adding another high-profile production to Cranford’s growing reputation as a filming destination in New Jersey.
