Dutch oven cooking is a camping cooking technique. It has been used for years on cub and boy scout trips. The Dutch oven, when surrounded by coals, simulates a real oven. Anything that can be cooked in an oven can be cooked in a Dutch oven. There are hundreds of recipes for it from soups, stews, casseroles, roasts and desserts.
