Expect Helicopters In East Brunswick For Transmission Line Inspection
Helicopters will be performing transmission line inspections in East Brunswick soon. Here's when - and what - to expect:
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - If you see helicopters flying close to transmission lines in East Brunswick next week, don’t be alarmed.
Chesapeake Bay Helicopters are set to come to the East Brunswick area to perform UV/IR patrols on transmission lines starting on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, the township said via social media.
“The purpose of a UV/IR patrol is to detect any overheated transmission line components or arcing that isn’t otherwise visible to the naked eye,” township officials said in a statement.

The inspections are expected to take around four to five days to complete. The work is also weather dependent and completion times may vary, the township said.
