Man Charged With Attempted Murder Of Newborn

A Carteret man has been charged with first-degree attempted murder after authorities say his infant son was critically injured under his care.

The baby was transported to Saint Peter's Hospital for treatment, where he remains in critical condition as of Friday morning.

Firefighters Injured, Buildings Damaged In Atlantic City Fire

Two firefighters were injured and several buildings were damaged after a fire broke out in Atlantic City, according to media reports.

The blaze began around 10 p.m. on Saturday at the back of a building on Monterey Avenue, News12 reported. Around 55 firefighters helped extinguish the blaze.

6 People Displaced In Egg Harbor House Fire

Six people were displaced after a fire blazed through a home in Egg Harbor on Sunday afternoon, according to media reports.

The fire was reported at 1:30 p.m. on Bristol Road off Tremont Avenue.

Neighbors living across the street said they heard an explosion and ran out to see flames coming from the garage of the two-story house, according to NJ.com.

Six people living in the home managed to escape, with one of them suffering a minor injury to their hand, and were treated on the scene, 95.5 WPG Radio reported.

Woman Killed In Route. 1 Crash

A 24-year-old Trenton woman was killed in a crash on Route 1 South Brunswick on Friday morning, police said.

The 24-year-old was driving on Route 1 South near the intersection of New Road when she struck the back of a tractor-trailer. The accident involved three vehicles, police said.
