Ex-Morris Co. Teacher Who Sexually Abused Boy Scout Sentenced
Colin Skeele, 37, of Florham Park, was sentenced on Nov. 15 to 18 months in New Jersey State Prison, officials said.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A former Morris County teacher who is now serving a 15-year federal term for child pornography was sentenced again on Thursday for sexually abusing a Boy Scout camper in 2010.
Colin Skeele, 37, of Florham Park, was sentenced to 18 months in New Jersey State Prison for sexually abusing a camper at Boy Scouts of America NoBeBoSco in Hardwick Township, authorities said.
Skeele was charged and ultimately pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, the prosecutor’s office said.

“On numerous occasions, Skeele engaged in various sex acts with the camper while working the medical tent at the camp,” Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said.
According to authorities, Skeele began a sexual relationship with a counselor-in-training at the camp when the camper was 15 years old and Skeele was 26 years old.

According to court documents and testimonies, Skeele previously worked as a counselor at a boys' summer camp in Hardwick township and as a teacher at parochial schools in Boonton and Stirling.
In 2019, Skeele pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to a federal charge of producing child pornography and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
According to authorities, in 2011, Skeele became Facebook friends with a boy he met while working as a counselor. He offered to pay the boy money to have him take sexually explicit pictures of himself and send them to him, former U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said.
One time, Skeele paid the boy about $100 to send nude pictures of himself; Skeele later sent at least one pornographic image of that boy to another minor who had attended the camp, Carpenito said.
Also, several times between 2012 and 2014, Skeele communicated online with people in the Philippines to purchase live child sexual abuse shows online, which he viewed in real-time via an online video and chat service, Carpenito said.
Skeele also pleaded guilty in 2020 to a second-degree felony of sexual assault by a supervisor for the sexual assault of a 17-year-old cadet in the Glenwood Pochuck Ambulance Corps, according to a report from the New Jersey Herald.
According to the reports, he was sentenced to another prison term that would run concurrently with the previous 15-year sentence. The Warren Prosecutor's Office did not immediately answer Patch's request for comment on whether his new prison sentence would run concurrently.
