Local Named Student Teacher at LaSalle Academy

Nina Sivolella is going into her senior year at the University of Scranton.

SCRANTON, PA -- Nina Sivolella of East Hanover, a senior at The University of Scranton, will serve as a student teacher at LaSalle Academy Primary Campus in the Diocese of Scranton School District during the spring semester. Sivolella is majoring in early and primary education at the Jesuit university.

The University of Scranton also announced that two students from the area were named to their Dean's List for the 2012 fall semester.

A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean's List. The list includes students from the Jesuit university's College of Arts and Sciences, the Kania School of Management, the Panuska College of Professional Studies and the College of Graduate and Continuing Education.

A total of 1,300 students were named to the Dean's List, including the following list of area residents:

  • Joseph DeFinis of East Hanover is a sophomore Criminal Justice major.
  • Brittany Kenney of Florham Park is a sophomore Nursing major.

The University of Scranton is a Jesuit university located in northeast Pennsylvania.
