Power Restored to Some E.H. Schools
A decision about whether East Hanover schools re-open Monday could be announced over the weekend.

East Hanover Schoools Superintendent Dr. Joseph Ricca provided the following update on the partial restoration of power to East Hanover schools and sections of the township.
Friday, November 2, 2012 (7:30 PM) As of 6:30 PM, power has been restored to the Board of Education Offices, Central Elementary School and East Hanover Middle School. This restoration includes areas along Ridgedale Avenue as well.
We will continue to monitor the restoration process carefully and plan for the possibility of re-opening school on Monday. Should we possess the ability to re-open the district on Monday, November 5th, we will notify the community via the web and the Honeywell Instant Alert System by mid-morning Sunday.

Again, all Halloween celebrations/parades will be rescheduled accordingly when conditions allow. The East Hanover Middle School Shelter remains open (24 hours) through at least Sunday, November 4th (12:00 AM). There are stations available for charging your electronic devices; there is heat; water and food available. Additionally, our community members are invited to rest at the facility at any time throughout power outage.
As a reminder, moving forward, the East Hanover Township Board of Education will consider future changes to the district's academic calendar—any and all changes will be clearly communicated to the community as soon as possible.

JCP&L continues to work hard to restore power to our community; however, progress remains incremental. We have been told that the 7-10 day restoration timeline for the entire community remains in effect. Please remember, while you may not see a line worker on your street, the work is on-going and the challenges associated with the grid are being attended to. Please remember, if you have not already done so and you are experiencing a power outage, contact JCP&L/First Energy at 888-544-4877.
Please be sure to stay away from all down trees and power lines. Please continue to monitor announcements from the Board of Education, Township and State related to the on-going restoration process.
Again, we will continue to update our educational and greater community via the Honeywell Instant Alert System and through the Township and district website as often as possible. You may also email me directly with questions at jricca@easthanoverschools.org and follow me on twitter @ehsuper
St. Rose of Lima Update: All 7th and 8th Grade Retreats are canceled and will be rescheduled and classes are canceled for this weekend due to the power outage.
