Assault By Auto, Reckless Driving: East Windsor Police Blotter

The following is a summary of incidents as reported by East Windsor police:

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — On Feb. 15 at 12:17 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop after a registration check revealed that the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license and active warrants out of Monroe, East Windsor, and Cranbury. The driver, a 20-year-old East Windsor resident, was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, and turned over to Monroe Police.

On Feb. 16 at 1 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle improperly parked in the area of closed businesses and an active commercial construction site. The officer stopped the vehicle and met with the driver who showed signs of impairment. The East Windsor resident was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. He was taken to police headquarters, processed, and later released pending court action.

On Feb. 17, at 5:07 p.m., an officer responded to the area of Heathwood Drive and Cherrybrook Lane for a report of multiple hit and run motor vehicle collisions. The officer located the vehicle at the intersection of Heathwood Drive and Oak Creek Road. The driver, an East Windsor resident, fled the scene and it was determined that the vehicle was stolen out of New Brunswick. The vehicle was impounded and the investigation was turned over to the New Brunswick Police who identified the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued and the suspect was located later in the day. The 30-year-old was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed, and later turned over to the custody of the New Brunswick Police.

On Feb. 17 at 1:23 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for speeding on Route 130 North. The driver was found to have an active warrant out of Pennsauken and was placed under arrest. The 28-year-old Philadelphia resident was taken to police headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail.

On Feb. 18 at 6:58 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Route 130 North and Route 571 for a report of a motor vehicle collision. The driver of the victim vehicle complained of back, neck, and head pain. That driver was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, a Westampton resident, showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The 35-year-old was transported to police headquarters, processed, and later released on a summons pending court action.
