Careless Driving, Warrant: East Windsor Police Blotter
The East Windsor Police Blotter dated Sept. 12 had the following reports:
EAST WINDSOR, NJ - On Sept. 5 at 3:20 p.m., an officer responded to Motel 6 for a dispute. The incident was resolved, but an involved party was found to have an active warrant out of Trenton. The 34-year-old East Windsor resident was placed under arrest, taken to police headquarters, processed, and later released on her own recognizance.
On Sept. 5, 5:34 p.m., an officer responded to ShopRite for a past-tense shoplifting report. On Sept. 2 the suspect, a Carteret resident, gathered $185.75 worth of miscellaneous groceries and bypassed all points of sale. Investigation revealed the 53-year-old was arrested by police in Marlboro on the same day for the same offense. The person was identified and charged on a complaint summons pending court action.
On Sept. 5, at 6:29 p.m., an officer responded to ShopRite for a report of a shoplifter being detained by Loss Prevention personnel. The Plainsboro resident placed $260.21 worth of miscellaneous groceries in a shopping cart and left the store after bypassing all points of sale. The 59-year-old was placed under arrest, taken to police headquarters, processed, and released on a summons pending court action.

On Sept. 7, at 7:49 p.m., an officer responded to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter being detained by Loss Prevention personnel. The East Windsor resident placed $486.36 worth of clothing and jewelry in a shopping bag and attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. The 53-year-old was placed under arrest, taken to police headquarters, processed, and released on a summons pending court action.
On Sept. 10, at 10:16 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of the Twin Rivers Mall when he observed an individual consuming alcohol in public. The East Windsor resident was found to have an active warrant out of Manalapan and was placed under arrest. The 49-year-old was taken to police headquarters, processed, issued a summons, and later turned over to the custody of the Manalapan Police.

On Sept. 11, at 4:46 p.m., an officer responded to Dorchester Drive in the area of Princeton Arms North I for a report of a single-car crash. On arrival, the officer found the vehicle crashed into a utility pole. The driver was uninjured but showed signs of impairment. The driver, a Trenton resident, failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. The 37-year-old did not comply with the breath testing process and was later released on summons pending court action.
