Hightstown Residents Turn Themselves In to Police

Two residents turned themselves in on active warrants; a Trenton woman was issued a warrant and and an East Windsor man was arrested on an active warrant.

The following report is based on information released by Hightstown Borough police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

On April 3 at 3:38 p.m. Joseph Pennisi, 25, of Grape Run Road in Hightstown, came to police headquarters to turn himself in on an active warrant issued for his arrest.  Pennisi had a warrant issued by New Hanover Municipal Court in the amount of $114 for an unpaid traffic summons. Pennisi posted bail and was later released.

On April 4 at 4:54 p.m. Jeremy Cokeley a 24, of Franklin Street, Hightstown,  came to police headquarters to turn himself in on an active warrant issued by Hightstown Borough Municipal Court. Cokeley had a warrant issued for his arrest in the amount of $1,000 for failing to appear on an outstanding criminal matter. Cokeley was later released upon posting bail with pending court action.

On April 5 at 1:35 a.m. officers took custody of Danmira Turner, 24, of Trenton, was charged with contempt of court. Turner was taken into custody by Robbinsville Township Police Department on a $500 warrant issued by Hightstown Borough Municipal Court. Turner was committed to the Mercer County Adult Correction Center in lieu of bail.

On April 8 at 6:05 p.m. on Cranbury Station Road, officers arrested Peter Herrera-Leon, a 28-year-old of Dutchneck Road, East Windsor, who was charged with contempt of court. Herrera-Leon was stopped for traveling 40 mph in a 25 mph speed zone and was found to have an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant, in the amount of $164, was issued by Hightstown Borough Municipal Court for failure to appear. Herrera-Leon was later released upon posting bail.
