Housing Rehabilitation Assistance Program Available In East Windsor

Residents can use the funds for major structural and systems repairs to their homes.

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — East Windsor is accepting applications from homeowners for the Township Housing Rehabilitation Program, which may offer up to $25,000 for eligible home repairs.

These repairs include roofs, foundations, heating, electrical, windows, insulation and plumbing.

The rehabilitation program is funded by a 2023 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs awarded to East Windsor in the amount of $195,551.

"This program is a great opportunity for residents to make important basic repairs to their homes which improve their living environment and help maintain the Township housing stock,” Mayor Janice Mironov said.

“We are appreciative to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for their grant support for this community housing rehabilitation program, and I encourage eligible homeowners to take advantage of this valuable opportunity while program funds remain available."

The grant was made available by the state upon township application for eligible residents in need of assistance for major structural and systems repairs to their homes, and is administered by the township agent..

Funds are offered on a no-interest loan basis. There is no cost to apply, and the application does not require a credit check.

There are no required monthly payments. A professional inspector oversees the entire rehabilitation process. This program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and residents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Application eligibility requirements for East Windsor residents include ownership of the home and a total gross annual household income below the income limit for your household size. Landlords also may be eligible to apply for rental properties.
