L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival Comes To Mercer County On Friday

The fair is hosted every year to help students understand the dangers of drugs and violence.

EAST WINDSOR, NJ – The L.E.A.D. Fest Carnival will be coming to Mercer County Park in West Windsor, on Friday until July 7.

Hosted by L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence), a nationwide nonprofit that works with communities to help students understand the dangers of drugs and violence, folks from across the county and other towns can enjoy food, rides and entertainment at the state fair.

Here are the hours for the state fair:

  • Monday – Friday: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday/Sunday/Holiday: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The hours are subject to change, and wristbands/admission redemption ends one hour before closing.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting the L.E.A.D. Fest State Fair in West Windsor Township. We look forward to bringing awareness to our evidence-based program while the attendees get to enjoy themselves at the state fair,” said Nick DeMauro, CEO of L.E.A.D.

“It’s a very special event as the folks who attend will help us in furthering our efforts to teach children across the country why steering clear of drugs and violence is critical and bridge the gap between police officers and communities.”

L.E.A.D. provides services “On The Street” and “In The Classroom” as it brings law enforcement and communities closer together. The “In The Classroom” program is taught by more than 5000 trained instructors in 45 states, who are serving more than 500,000 students in 2,500 school systems. L.E.A.D. has a proven-effective, law enforcement-focused anti-drug, anti-violence curriculum for K–12 students in the U.S. The L.E.A.D. curriculum is taught over the course of a 10-week program to educate youth on how they can make smart decisions without the involvement of drugs or violence.

Along with fairway rides provided by Reithoffer Shows, performances will be held by the Amazing Anastasini Circus at the L.E.A.D. Fest State Fair, which are included in the general admission price of $5.

The special deals for the state fair are as follows:

  • Monday, July 1, is Dollar Night: Gate admission is $1, rides each cost $1 and tickets are sold in sheets of 10.
  • Tuesday, July 2, is $25 Wristband Special: All mega passes purchased online and on-site are $25.

Along with activities such as Robinson’s Racing Pigs, Cowtown USA, a pie eating contest and a weekend craft/business fair, the L.E.A.D. Fest State Fair has a nightly entertainment schedule.
