2025 Pakistan Day Parade & Festival Returns Aug. 24 To Edison, Woodbridge

EDISON, NJ — The vibrant 2025 New Jersey Pakistan Day Parade & Festival is set to take place on Sunday, Aug. 24, spanning from Woodbridge through Edison.
This year's colorful parade promises to attract scores of spectators from throughout New Jersey and New York, continuing a beloved tradition that celebrates Pakistani heritage and community. The main parade is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on Oak Tree Road and will conclude on Wood Avenue, seamlessly transitioning into the evening festival portion of the event.
The day's festivities actually begin much earlier, with pre-parade activities starting at 1 p.m. These opening ceremonies will feature a flag-raising ceremony, cultural music and dance performances, and remarks from local officials, community leaders, and event organizers, setting the stage for the main celebration.

Once the parade concludes, spectators can continue enjoying the festivities at a comprehensive festival featuring food vendors serving authentic Pakistani cuisine, merchandise and information booths, celebrity appearances, and additional live music and dance performances that showcase the rich cultural traditions of Pakistan.
The 2025 parade and festival hold special significance as it mark the 77th anniversary of Pakistani independence. Pakistan's national holiday is observed annually on Aug. 14.

Here's the schedule of events:
- 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Free Halwa Puri (traditional Pakistani breakfast)
- 1:00 p.m.: Pre-Parade Program featuring music, dance, and food on Middlesex Avenue and Oak Tree Road in Iselin
- 1:45 p.m.: Flag-raising ceremony and official speeches
- 3:00 p.m.: Pakistan Day Parade begins in Woodbridge
- 4:30 p.m.: Pakistan Day Parade concludes at Wood Avenue in Edison
- 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.: Pakistani Cultural & Music Festival in Edison
