36-Year-Old Man Killed In Overnight Crash In Edison

Makiano Francois of Irvington sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.

EDISON, NJ — A 36-year-old Irvington man was killed in an overnight crash in Edison, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Thomas Bryan said.

On Tuesday, around 12:07 a.m., authorities responded to Route 1 and Grandview Avenue following the report of a crash.

On arrival, officers found two vehicles, a Mitsubishi, driven by Makiano Francois of Irvington. Francois sustained serious injuries and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced dead, Ciccone said.

The other vehicle involved in the crash was a Ford Explorer, occupied by a 48-year-old man from Brooklyn, NY.

He sustained minor injuries and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he has since been released, authorities said.
