Edison Council Approves Change Order For Sports Building
The change order of $187,433.40 amends the initial sports building contract to $10.9 million, according to the resolution.
EDISON, NJ — The Edison Township Council recently adopted a resolution authorizing a change order with a developer for the sports building roof.
The change order of $187,433.40 amends the initial sports building contract with Epic Management of Piscataway to $10.9 million, according to the resolution.
The amount will go towards revising the type of metal roof panels used on the pre-engineered Edison Sports Building from a Perlin Bear Rib system to a standing seam roof.

“The changes will not alter the contract in such a manner as to nullify the effect of the competitive determination of lowest responsible bidder which was made at the time of the contract award,” the resolution said.
Last year, Edison approved a contract worth $10.8 million for building the sports recreation facility.

The initial amount earmarked for the project was $5 million.
The project will involve removing the existing building and trailers at the Edison Jets Football field and constructing a pre-engineered metal building with a two-story podium framed of steel columns.
