Edison Firefighters Battle 2 Blazes In One Day Over the Weekend

There were no reports of any injuries in either case.

EDISON, NJ — The Edison Fire Department battled two structure fires in one day – one on Albert Street and the other on Lexington Avenue.

Both structure fires were reported on Sunday.

Around 1 a.m. on Sunday, firefighters were dispatched to Albert Street for a reported structure fire.

On arrival, they found heavy fire coming from the rear of a residential home. A second alarm was called bringing additional personnel to the scene.

Crews were forced into defensive operations when the roof of the structure collapsed, the fire department said.

Later that day, firefighters were dispatched to Lexington Avenue. When they arrived, they found a fully involved fire in a home's detached garage. Additional units were called to the scene to help put out the blaze.

There were no reports of any injuries in either case.
