“We are thrilled to announce this new partnership with Parker Health Group and the Edison Public Library,” Director Allan Kleiman said. “Our goal is to offer a welcoming social space for those experiencing changes in their memory or thinking and the people who care about – and for – them.”
Through the monthly series, which will kick off on Wednesday, Jan. 14, Middlesex County residents will have the opportunity to share experiences that foster community and overall well-being as well as take part in activities like meditation, arts and crafts, movement, music and more that promote cognitive function.

The Memory Café programs at Edison Public Library will be facilitated by Parker Health Group Inc. Health & Wellness Manager Anne La, with fellow care partners from Parker, and will focus on a different topic each month.
The January Memory Café program will be held at 11 a.m. and center around the theme “New Year, New You: Vision Board Crafting.”
“A Memory Café provides a safe, welcoming space where individuals living with memory loss and their care partners can connect without fear of judgment or stigma; it reduces social isolation while supporting both the person and the caregiver through meaningful engagement and shared understanding,” La said.
“Memory Cafés focus on abilities rather than limitations, helping preserve dignity, joy, and a sense of belonging,” La continued. “They also strengthen community ties and keep families connected to support and resources earlier and longer.”
Moving forward, program times will alternate between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. through June, with meeting dates, times, and topics as follows:
- Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 1:30 p.m. (Heart Health & Happiness)
- Wednesday, March 11 at 11 a.m. (Mindful Moments)
- Wednesday, April 8 at 1:30 p.m. (Spring into Movement)
- Wednesday, May 13 at 1:30 p.m. (Nourish to Flourish)
- Wednesday, June 10 at 1:30 p.m. (Music & Memory)
“We hope this new offering at the Edison Public Library will be a warm and welcoming place where individuals living with memory loss and their care partners feel comfortable, supported, and understood,” La said.
“Our goal is to create opportunities for connection, conversation, and joy while easing feelings of isolation,” La continued. “We also hope it helps families feel more connected to their community and reminds them that they are not alone on this journey.”
