Back in October 2024, Middlesex County installed two healthcare kiosks in New Brunswick and Woodbridge. These were stocked with Narcan, fentanyl testing strips and xylazine testing strips and other lifesaving resources.

The initiative was funded through a federal settlement with pharmaceutical companies involved in the opioid supply chain.

The kiosks are designed to reduce stigma and increase access to critical resources, county officials say. They serve as an alternative to pharmacies and local service providers, offering discreet access to harm reduction supplies when traditional sources may be unavailable, such as during evenings or weekends.
