Edison Man Shot & Killed Inside Home: Prosecutor

A 61-year-old Keasbey resident has been arrested and charged with murder, authorities said.

EDISON, NJ — A 61-year-old man from Keasbey has been charged with murder and other offenses in the shooting death of an Edison resident, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department said.

On Feb. 16, at 6:39 p.m., authorities responded to Clive Hills Road following a 911 call from Gregory Ginzburg who told police that Igor Kirilenko was inside his home with a firearm.

On arrival, police found Ginzburg, 72, of Edison, with a fatal gunshot wound. Kirilenko, 61, of Keasbey, was unharmed. Ginzburg was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to an investigation, Kirilenko was the perpetrator.

On Monday, Kirilenko was taken into custody without incident and charged with first-degree murder and second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.

Kirilenko is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending the results of a Pre-Trial Detention hearing.

The investigation is active and continuing.
