Edison School District Calendar For 2024-25: Key Dates To Know

EDISON, NJ — Summer is almost over for Edison students, as only a few weeks remain until school reopens.

The first day of school in Edison is Thursday, Sept. 5.

The township has two preschools, 11 elementary schools, four middle schools and two high schools

Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

• Start date: Thursday, Sept. 5
• Rosh Hashanah: Oct. 3 & 4, district closed
• Diwali: Nov. 1, no school for students
• Fall Break/Teacher’s Convention: Nov. 4- 8
• Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 5
• Thanksgiving break: Nov. 28-29
• Winter break: Dec. 24 - Jan. 1, 2025
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school: Monday, Jan. 20, 2025
• Lunar New Year, no school: Jan. 29, 2025
• Presidents Day: Monday, no school: Feb. 17, 2025
• Eid, no school: March 31, 2025
• Spring break: April 14 - 18, 2025
• Juneteenth: June 19, 2025, no school
• Last Day of School: June 25, 2025
