Fundraiser Set For Family Of Edison Firefighter Who Died Recently
Firefighter Howard Tarlow joined the Edison Division of Fire on October 9, 2012.

EDISON, NJ — A fundraiser has been set up for the family of Edison firefighter Howard Tarlow who passed away recently.
Tarlow began his fire service career in 2008 when he joined the Highland Park Volunteer Fire Department, after expressing to a friend the urge to give back to the community, the Edison Firefighters Association said.
In 2010, Tarlow wanted to serve the town he lived in, and transferred to Raritan Engine Company 1.

He was appointed to the Edison Division of Fire as a career firefighter on October 9, 2012 and was assigned to C Platoon.
“He had a never-ending quest for knowledge and would regularly attend fire service training classes, all while actively attaining a Fire Science Bachelor’s degree from New Jersey City University. Firefighter Tarlow was known for his attention to detail at work and his witty sense of humor,” the association said.

Tarlow’s son Mark followed in his father’s footsteps and is now an Edison Firefighter himself.
The goal of the fundraiser is to raise $20,000 to help the Tarlow’s children - Mark, Kayla and Atara.
“Please consider donating to help cover the kids’ immediate expenses during this difficult time,” the Edison Firefighters Association said. As of Tuesday, $11,240 was raised.
