JPS, Edison High Fall In New Rankings Of Top NJ High Schools
Both schools placed significantly lower in the rankings than they did last year.

EDISON, NJ — Both Edison High and J.P. Stevens saw a significant drop in their rankings of best high schools in the state, according to new rankings of 305 high schools published by New Jersey Monthly.
J.P. Stevens fell from 24th best to 60th. It had a higher teacher to student ratio than schools in the top ten (most top ten schools were 10:1, while JPS is 15:1), and a lower graduation rate (87.7% versus some schools in the high 90s).
Edison High fell from 110th to 155th, putting it squarely in the middle of the rankings. The school has a student to teacher ratio of 12:1m and a graduation rate of 82.5%.

To arrive at the rankings, NJ Monthly looked at the state Department of Education's most recent New Jersey School Performance Reports. Only public high schools were included in the rankings. (You can read more about the methodology here.) Topping the list was McNair in Jersey City, a magnet school.
