Man Charged After Committing Lewd Acts At Edison's Middlesex College

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A South Brunswick man with a history of similar offenses has been charged in connection with multiple acts of public lewdness on the Middlesex College campus in Edison, County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.

Jihad Goines Jr., 21, was arrested Monday following incidents that occurred on May 9 at the college campus. The Middlesex College Police Department initially responded to a report of a man performing lewd acts in a building lobby, but investigators subsequently uncovered two additional incidents involving the same man.

This arrest marks the second time Goines has faced such charges. In December 2024, he was previously arrested for similar incidents at both South Brunswick locations and Rutgers University, resulting in charges of three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact and seven counts of lewdness.

Goines Jr. has been charged with three counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact and three counts of lewdness, which is considered a disorderly persons offense.

Following a detention hearing Thursday before the Superior Court, Goines is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
