Man Charged In 2024 Crash That Killed Edison Resident, Passenger
Ahmad Campbell of Edison died at the scene, while Melvin Jones of Piscataway died later of his injuries.
EDISON, NJ — A Piscataway man was charged in connection with a 2024 fatal crash that killed two of his passengers, one of them an Edison resident, authorities said.
Devon Scuccimarri, 28, was charged with two counts of second-degree vehicular homicide, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Linden Police Chief David Hart said.
At around 3 a.m. on Oct. 5, 2024, a fatal motor vehicle accident occurred in the intersection of US 1&9 and South Stiles Street in Linden involving an Infiniti G37, driven by Scuccimarri, and a Freightliner Tractor Trailer.

Linden Police Officers found the Infiniti’s front seat passenger, Ahmad Campbell, 25, of Edison, dead at the scene, said Daniel.
The other two occupants of the Infiniti, Scuccimarri and rear passenger Melvin Jones, 24, of Piscataway, were taken to Newark University Hospital with serious injuries. Jones later succumbed to his injuries at Newark University Hospital, said Daniel.

According to initial investigation, the Infiniti went through a red light while driving at a high rate of speed and crashed with the tractor-trailer, which was making a left-hand turn, said Daniel.
Following his arrest, Scuccimarri was processed and remanded to the Union County Jail.
