Memorial Hockey Tournament In Edison Raises Funds For Disability Services
The tournament will take place at the Inman Sports Complex in Edison.
EDISON, NJ — The annual Cody Classic hockey tournament will take place on Saturday, from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Inman Sports Complex in Edison. The community fundraiser benefits The Springbrook Foundation and is held this year in memory of Frank and Mary LaScalla.
The tournament honors Cody Meyers, cousin of founder Tom Needham, who died in January 2023 from a rare kidney disease. Created by the Tom Needham Foundation, the Cody Classic has become a cornerstone community event, raising nearly $1,500 for Springbrook last year.
Needham's commitment to disability advocacy began after he experienced vision loss in 2003. His neighbor Dana Jackson, whose son Aidan receives Springbrook services, inspired his dedication to supporting the organization.
