Metuchen Gets $500K For New Fire Truck
The funds will go towards replacing fire engine 2, the fire department said.
METUCHEN, NJ – Metuchen has secured $500,000 to purchase a new fire truck for the Metuchen Fire Department, Mayor Jonathan M Busch said.
The funds will go towards replacing fire engine 2, the fire department said.
“Fire vehicles are extraordinarily expensive and this money will help the Borough to continue to ensure the reliability of our Department and its ability to deliver quality fire protection for our residents,” Bisch said in a Facebook post.

A new fire station is already in the works in Metuchen and the new funding will give a boost to the fire department.
In a Facebook post, the Metuchen Fire Department thanked the Mayor and borough administrators for the funds and their continued support.

“The maintenance and replacement of critical public safety infrastructure is vital to the delivery of Fire and Rescue Services, and this administration has gone above and beyond to support our mission,” the fire department said.
"Thank you Mayor Busch, members of the Borough Council and the Administration for continuing to support the work our Volunteer Firefighters do for the community.”
