Motorcyclist Killed In Route 1 Crash In Edison
Alexander Chong, 45, of Belleville was killed in the crash on Sunday night.
EDISON, NJ - A man from Belleville was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 1 in Edison on Sunday night, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan said.
On Sunday, around 8:13 p.m., authorities responded to Route 1 North and Old Post Road following the report of a multi-vehicle crash.
On arrival, authorities found Alexander Teshima Chong, 44, who was operating a motorcycle at the time of the collision. Chong sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Ciccone said.

Another motorcyclist, a 44-year-old man, suffered severe injuries and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment.
According to initial investigation, two motorcycles turned onto Route 1 North from Old Post Road and crashed into the rear of a BMW SUV.

The 44-year-old was ejected off his motorcycle as a result of the crash. The operator of the BMW SUV sustained no injuries and was released from the scene.
