Rainforest Cafe Closes Edison Location After 27 Years

The restaurant, designed as a tropical rainforest, was a staple of the mall.

EDISON, NJ – Rainforest Cafe, which was located at Edison’s Menlo Park Mall, has closed permanently.

The restaurant was a mall staple for almost 27 years.

The closure was attributed to the landlord not renewing the lease, according to NBC New York.

Rainforest Cafe opened at Menlo Park Mall in September 1998. Their website currently lists only one other New Jersey location - in Atlantic City.

The restaurant is designed as a tropical rainforest, with plants, waterfalls, life-like figurines of rainforest animals, and sound effects.
