METUCHEN, NJ — If you love vegan food and fresh produce, this can come as good news to you.

Soul Bowls, a vegan, organic food eatery is planning to open a new restaurant in Metuchen. This news was confirmed by the Metuchen Downtown Alliance and by Soul Bowl which posted the news on Facebook.

"We are excited to have them join our growing food and dining scene in Metuchen," said Isaac Kremer, Executive Director, Metuchen Downtown Alliance. "We've added 20 new dining businesses since the Alliance was founded in 2016. Soul Bowls is a perfect fit for people seeking healthy living options, or simply fresh delicious food."

Soul Bowls started in 1999 when the owners took a school bus and converted it into a vegan food truck.

They opened their first storefront in Scotch Plains in 2019. According to their website, Soul Bowls strives to “bring together a community of people that take pride in what they eat.”

“It is equally important to spread kindness and compassion to others; humans and animals alike. This is our reason for being a business that is 100% vegan. All of our ingredients are simply plants; gifts from mother earth,” says the website.
