Car Struck by Left Turner Plows Into Pole; Passenger Hospitalized
A two-car accident on Broadway Sunday afternoon sent one woman to the hospital with neck and back pain.
A driver traveling westbound on Broadway Sunday afternoon careened into a pole after her car was struck by an eastbound vehicle attempting to turn left from Broadway onto 17th Street, police said.
The westbound car's rear passenger, who complained of neck and back pain, was immobilized on a board and transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, police said. None of the other occupants in either vehicle required medical attention.
Police said the driver of the left-turning Nissan Infiniti who initiated the accident had her vision obscured by a truck stopped in the left westbound lane. Upon pulling out in front of the truck onto 17th Street, she failed to see a black Toyota Corolla whizzing by beside the truck in the right lane and struck the vehicle, police said.
