Fair Lawn Police, Fire Respond To House Fire On Oak Street
According to fire officials, high winds "played a big factor in the rapid growth of the fire."
FAIR LAWN, NJ – A fire tore through a vacant Oak Street home Wednesday evening in Fair Lawn, according to authorities.
Shortly before 5 p.m., police and firefighters were called to 8-35 Oak Street after receiving a report of a heavy fire at the rear of the home. Fair Lawn firefighters, along with those from Glen Rock, Saddle Brook, Hawthorne, Paramus, Rochelle Park and Garfield, worked to bring the blaze under control.

According to the fire department, no injuries were reported. The home, which is under contract, was not occupied at the time of the fire.
The fire was not considered suspicious, but a cause could not be determined, authorities said.
