Five-Car Crash In Fair Lawn Sends Two To Hospital
Police said it occurred after a 66-year-old Fair Lawn man suffered from a medical condition while behind the wheel.
FAIR LAWN, NJ – A five-car crash in Fair Lawn sent two people to the hospital Thursday afternoon, according to police.
Around 5:20 p.m., officers responded to a crash involving multiple vehicles on Fair Lawn Avenue near Abbott Road, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

Further investigation revealed a 2019 Audi, operated by a 66-year-old Fair Lawn man, struck a traffic safety bollard and pedestrian crossing sign after having a medical episode. His car then continued into a 2007 Saturn driven by a 56-year-old Butler woman, Metzler said.
After that, the Audi struck two cars parked on Fair Lawn Avenue while the Saturn was pushed into a third vehicle, a 2013 Toyota operated by a 40-year-old Haledon woman. Her car was pushed into a nearby parking lot, where it struck a parked vehicle, the sergeant said.

The 66-year-old Fair Lawn man was taken to Valley Hospital by Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The Butler woman was also transported to Valley to be treated for a facial injury, according to the sergeant.
No charges have been filed at this time, Metzler said.
