Learn how to lead drum circles (a wonderfully-growing phenomenon)

Rotary District 7490 (Northeastern NJ) and the Music Department of William Paterson University (Wayne, NJ) are teaming up to sponsor "Fundamentals of Drum Circle Facilitation Training" at WPU's Hunziker Black Box Theater, October 20-22, 2023. The cost is $399 for this three-day course accredited by Village Music Circles Global. Recent research has shown that music-making has a positive and powerful impact on both our physical and mental well-being. Drum circles have been wonderful for youth at risk, Senior populations, recovery populations, corporate communities and even fitness centers to create a wide variety of outcomes, including stress relief, team building, curriculum integration, mental focus and enhanced energy. John Fitzgerald and Mike Deaton, Village Music Circles Global Certified trainers with combined experience of over 35 years of drum circle facilitation, will lead the course. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Rotary (International )Foundation and to Music Mends Minds, an organization that provides musical experiences for those with all types of dementia and other debilitating conditions.
