2 Kids In Car With Drunk Fort Lee Woman In Hit-And-Run: Police
The woman was charged with driving while intoxicated with minors in the motor vehicle, police said.
FORT LEE, NJ β A borough woman was charged with driving while intoxicated and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child after police said she was involved in a hit-and-run crash with two kids in a vehicle in Fair Lawn Friday night.
Nicole Chung, 40, failed a field sobriety test after police responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash on Garrison Place when a white van hit a fire hydrant, said Sgt. Brian Metzler.
Police found the vehicle parked in the middle of Grunstra Place. Two kids, ages 4 and 8, were in the vehicle and were taken to police headquarters, along with Chung, Metzler said.

Chung and the kids were released to a responsible adult, the sergeant said.
In addition to DUI and endangering the welfare of a child, Chung was also charged with DUI with minors in the motor vehicle, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash, failure to report a crash, failure to wear a seat belt, failure to produce a vehicle registration, no evidence of motor vehicle insurance, and improper driving on a sidewalk.
