$40,000 Of Heroin Found During Palisades Parkway Traffic Stop: PD

A man in the vehicle had the heroin in 4,000 wax folds in the back seat, police said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Police found $40,000 worth of heroin in a vehicle during a traffic stop on the Palisades Interstate Park recently, authorities announced.

A Palisades Interstate Parkway police officer stopped a Honda Odyssey minivan for a motor vehicle violation at 3:17 p.m. Dec. 15, police said.

Police searched the vehicle, and a man in back-seat had about 4,000 wax folds of heroin in his possession, police said. The heroin had a street value of about $40,000, authorities said.

The passenger, Gabriel Zurita-Bayron, 36, of Philadelphia, was charged with first-degree distribution of heroin, third-degree possession of heroin, and possession of marijuana under 50 grams, police said.

Holly Anne Mead, 32, of Newburgh, New York, was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, police said.
